Sirach (Ecclesiasticus)

32My son, prove thy soul in thy life (M in wine); And see thou give it not that which is bad for it.

33For not all is good for all: Not every soul chooseth every sort.

34Be not insatiable (G) for every luxury; And be not effuse on all dainties.

35For in much luxury (M food) nesteth sickness; And he that surfeiteth shall come nigh to loathing.

36By intemperance many perish utterly (?); But he that taketh heed shall add to life.
